Are you passionate about libraries, literature and history? Seeking a fulfilling nonprofit position in Boston? The Associates of the Boston Public Library is currently recruiting for two new roles.
Founded in 1972, the Associates is an independent non-profit dedicated to conserving the BPL’s Special Collections of rare books, manuscripts, prints, and other items of historic, cultural and artistic interest. We strive to ensure continued public access to these irreplaceable treasures by underwriting their conservation, cataloging, digitization, and exhibition.
The full-time Director of Development will lead all of the Associates’ fundraising efforts, including: short and long-term development strategic planning, the annual appeal, membership drive, major gift cultivation/ solicitation, corporate event sponsorship solicitation, grant applications/reporting, and donor correspondence.
The part-time Communications and Development Associate will promote the Associates’ events and preservation activities via social media, the website and e-newsletters. He or she will also provide administrative support, and be an active partner in the Associates’ fundraising efforts, including maintaining donor records, gift processing, and donor correspondence.
