Welcome to the New Board Members of the 2025 Fiscal Year!
The Associates of the Boston Public Library is pleased to welcome our newest Board Members, who recently started three-year terms. The new class includes two returning board members, Anita C. Lincoln and Sharon Lincoln, and two brand new additions, Lori Henderson, and Dana Jackson Cohen. These remarkable individuals will bring a wealth of expertise, passion, and dedication to the organization. Meet the newest members of our board:
Lori M. Henderson
As Moderna’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from April 2018 through her retirement in June 2021, Lori Henderson led Moderna’s legal, governance and corporate compliance efforts. Lori came to Moderna with 30 years’ experience as a corporate attorney in both law firm and general counsel roles guiding both global public and private companies. Prior to Moderna, Lori was with Curia, Inc (formerly, Albany Molecular Research (AMRI), a pharmaceutical contract research and manufacturing organization, where she was Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Head of Business Development. Prior to AMRI, she was General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer at Rand Worldwide, a technology sales and services organization and prior to that, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer of Moldflow Corporation (which was sold to Autodesk). She started her career in the corporate practice of the Boston law firm Goodwin Procter. Ms. Henderson received her Juris Doctorate (with high honors) from The George Washington University Law School and her B.A. from Gordon College. She is on the Board of Directors of the Emmanuel Gospel Center, Little Children of the World and now the Associates of the Boston Public Library. She lives with her husband, Dwight, in Sudbury, MA.
Anita C. Lincoln
Anita was president and part owner of Charles Sumner on Newbury Street and in the Chestnut Hill Mall. Throughout her 30-year career, Anita enjoyed the many adventures in women’s fashion. Notably, she brought Vidal Sassoon and Akris to Boston. While Anita's interests are varied, travel has always been her passion. She has visited 83 countries, with her most memorable experience being the climb to Everest Base Camp. Anita served as Treasurer of the Associates of the Boston Public Library for 23 years and the Chaired the St. Botolph Club Foundation for 15 years. She also enjoys watercolor painting, playing golf and bridge, gardening, cooking, and entertaining. Anita was married to Robin Lincoln, who came with three children, for 32 years.
Sharon C. Lincoln
After working as a history teacher (in Brussels and Boston) and then as a newspaper editor, Sharon surprised friends and family by going to law school and becoming a tax attorney. She is a Partner at Casner & Edwards, LLP and enjoys the challenge and creativity of advising nonprofit organizations on a wide variety of strategic matters related to their tax-exempt status, governance, and operations. In addition, she assists clients in matters directly involving the Internal Revenue Service, including audits and in Tax Court. Her clients range from small startup nonprofits to well-established charitable institutions. Sharon graduated from Dartmouth College (summa cum laude) and from Harvard Law School (cum laude), is licensed in both California and Massachusetts, and is admitted in Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
Dana Jackson Cohen
Dana Jackson Cohen is a media strategist and fundraiser. Dana spent 20 years at CBS Radio in Boston before venturing out on her own. Since starting her own business, Dana has created and funded awareness campaigns involving public engagement, social media and broadcast media working together to affect change.
An active community supporter, Dana has worked with public affairs and state agencies to implement cost effective public awareness campaigns across multiple platforms. These campaigns have educated the public on fire safety, suicide prevention, maternal depression, teen dating violence, homeless veterans, industrial accidents, recycling, ovarian cancer, healthcare, wastewater planning, child safety and labor relations. She is on the Board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Massachusetts Chapter.
With these new board members, the Associates is poised for a future that continues to preserve and promote the Boston Public Library's Special Collections.
