Our members are critical partners in our efforts to preserve, protect, and promote the Special Collections of the Boston Public Library.


The Associates offers five membership levels and four recognition circles for those who wish to support our work with larger gifts. At each level, you will receive:

$50-$99

The Associates’ e-newsletter detailing some of our most interesting work

Supporter

$100-$249

Early notice of Associates’ events, in addition to our e-newsletter

Sustainer

$250-$499

An Associates’ bookmark, early notice of events, and our e-newsletter

Partner

$500-$999

Recognition in the Associates’ Annual Report, plus an Associates’ bookmark, early notice of events, and our e-newsletter

Benefactor

$1,000-$4,999

An invitation to an Associates’ private talk, tour or event; recognition in our Annual Report; an Associates’ bookmark; early notice of events; and our e-newsletter

Affinity Circles

Author's Circle

$5,000-$9,999

All Benefactor benefits, plus inclusion in a small group author-led lunch and discussion (max. 15).

Curator's Circle

$10,000-$24,999

All Benefactor benefits, plus an invitation to a small group behind-the-scenes tour with a BPL curator or manager, followed by lunch with others at the event (max. 12).

Conservator's Circle

$25,000-$49,999

All of the Benefactor benefits, plus a group viewing of highlights from the BPL’s Special Collections for the Conservator’s Circle member and one guest, followed by lunch or cocktails with others at the event (max. 10). In addition, Conservator Circle members will be able to give one gift Author’s Circle membership to a friend.

Chairman's Circle

$50,000 and above

All of the Benefactor benefits, plus a private viewing of highlights from the BPL’s Special Collections for the Chairman's Circle member and up to nine friends, followed by lunch, high tea, or cocktails.
